Day #6

I have wanted to give up many times! I had a good feeling this was going to be hard, but it's HARDER than imagined. I just cold turkey changed my diet...I can't have barely anything.

I started feeling tons more energy by wed (day #3) so day 4 went smooth and day 5 was a little tougher. I did cheat now and then. My husband and I went to The Cheesecake Factory on day 4 and I ordered a Turkey burger No bun, it had sauted onions which is an ok for me. I had a salad and green beans with it. The only bad thing I ate was the dressing. Oh, and 2 french fries from his plate..I couldn't help it. Today, was a REALLY bad day, I had 2 pieces of pizza...but I only ate 2 and they were small and I got full, (I could easily eat 3-4). I had a bite of a blueberry muffin the other day too. So not totally STRICT as planned but MUCH better.

So on day #5 I was in the bathroom with an upset stomach and a lot of gas and cramps. (I have Crohns' Disease) So, now I am trying to think if this diet is even a good idea for me. Doesn't lettuce and veggies cause gas? Luckily I am seeing my GI doc this wed. to ask him 1,000,000 questions.

I was looking thru my recipe book and started writing down more things I needed to buy to make more things to get me thru this week. I got very emotional. This is NOT easy. I do not have a food processor, I do not have a decent whole foods store or farmers market close to me, and it's a little TOO expensive to have to continue to buy more things. I have no clue how to make half the things in this book. I feel like I can't win.

So what if I just really watch what I eat, and cut my sizes down buy half or more? I want to go back to the gym (that I am paying $60 a month for) but my feet hurt so bad, I can't walk on the tredmill. I can't lift weights because after a few reps my muscles cramp up and hurt. So again, I CAN'T WIN!

The ONLY thing keeping me going today is that I have more energy and I weighed myself...I have lost over 8lbs but not 100% sure how much, since I didn't weigh myself on Day #1 and I didn't use the same scale. I will know for sure on wed at Dr. office! But still I have lost and that is all that matters to me.

So any help and support and prayers are much needed!! I need a personal chef. I wish I could, I so would!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!

Day #2

Today was much harder, I am really struggling with not having much flavor or dressings for my salads. I need a personal chef, seriously! By the time I get home from work, I am so tired and my feet hurt extremely bad. It literally takes all my lest resort of energy to put together something. Luckily I DID do the prep work on Sunday!

Today I had strawberry yogurt and string cheese, and had almonds for snack. Lunch I had a homemade salad with some of my left over chicken breast, black beans, broccoli, carrots, and drizzled oil and lemon juice. I feel like it's not enough, but even tonight very little had been filling me up. For dinner, I had left over chicken, yellow squash with zuccinni, added some beans but that didn't go well. I had a boiled egg and green tea. I am actually stuffed!

I am not going to lie, I wanted to give up a few times today, But with awesome support I got thru it!

I think for dinner tomorrow I will go somewhere and enjoy a big salad that someone else puts it together for me :)

Day of Prep and Cooking

I started this morning at 10am with just cleaning beans, soaking them, marinating chicken, chopping onions and garlic, cleaning tons of lettuce and greens...it's now 9pm and I am still not done, I have cooked chicken to put in containers and still waiting on those dang beans. Next time I am just using the crockpot for the beans.

Tomorrow is day 1 of the diet!

Much stressed and tired. Good Night

Shopping Day and Preparing

So I haven't started the actual diet, yet. After doing research and reading and reading and reading, I got over whelmed and needed to really get myself prepped for this diet. I am A+, basically I am an omnivore, I thrive off Veggies and Fish. I can eat some fruit, chicken and turkey as well.

Today I went to the farmers market (first time ever). As soon as I walked in the first row I got over whelmed again! I don't know all my veggies, especially the greens. At least I went in with a list of what I needed and things I couldn't have. I ended up getting some garlic, green beans, range free eggs, romaine lettuce and something else I am forgetting now. I could have gotten some lemons, cilantro and parsley but had walked up and down the isle's a few times. (Soulard Farmers Market is huge!)

I ended up going to Sam's Club for my boneless chicken breast, yogurt, olive oil, lemons, baby cucumbers, plums, strawberry's, carrots, broccoli...and few other items. I went to Schnuck's (local grocery store) and got squash, some other greens,  seasonings, beans, fresh ginger.....NOW DO YOU SEE WHY I AM OVER WHELMED??

I have a few books with recipes and meal ideas, but it's gonna take time to prepare it all. Since a lot of the stuff I bought in bulk, I had to wash and split into single serving bags. I FORGOT SPINACH!! There is probably a reason for that. YUCK!

I have no clue how to make beans, how long do I soak them for, how long do I cook them for?? What am I getting myself into?!

Reasoning why I am doing this diet: I have been really sick with muscle pain, muscle spazzing/cramping, being very fatigue, being diagnosed with thyroid disease 2 years ago, just being diagnosed with Crohns Disease AND just having my gall bladder removed, over weight and just unhappy and unhealthy. So, I use to work for a Dr and his brother, who is a chiropracter, worked in the same building (great Christian Family) who is into holistic healing and natural medicine. After all these tests after tests and NO answers I decided to talk to him again. He said he has heard these same symptoms from MANY people and have started them on this Blood Type Diet and with in weeks they lost weight, felt a ton better. So why not try it? It will show me how to eat Healthy! So no loss for me either way, right? My health is affecting my job, I am a nurse and I write in charts all day every day and with the muscle weakness/pain it hurts to write more than 2 sentences.

SO HERE GOES TO CHANGING MY LIFE AROUND!!

Day one is Monday March 26th
